MEDICE Health Family publishes its sustainability report for the 2025 financial year

The MEDICE Health Family has published its sustainability report for the 2025 financial year. The report details progress made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency and the company’s ongoing development into a provider of multimodal healthcare solutions.

Brief overview:

  • Halving of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) within ten years whilst doubling production output.

  • Reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) by 10.7 per cent compared with the previous year.

  • Already 20 per cent of the company’s fleet consists of electric vehicles (baseline at the start of 2025: 0 per cent).

  • Total energy consumption remains virtually constant despite revenue growth (+0.3 per cent compared with 2024).

The MEDICE Health Family continues to consistently advance its measures for sustainable corporate development. In its mission statement, the family-owned company explicitly refers to its commitment to improving people's health in as many areas as possible. In addition to physical and mental health, this also includes the ecological health of both people and the environment. The progress documented in the new Sustainability Report for the 2025 reporting year demonstrates that this guiding principle is firmly embedded in the company's strategy.

A key focus of the report is the Group-wide greenhouse gas inventory prepared in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The results show that market-based Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO₂ emissions were reduced by a further 10.7% in fiscal year 2025 compared to the previous year. At the same time, the MEDICE Health Family's total energy consumption remained almost unchanged despite continued business growth.

Various measures contributed to this development: during the reporting year, the connection of the Iserlohn site to the district heating network was fully completed, photovoltaic capacities were further expanded, and the electrification of the vehicle fleet was initiated. The long-term trend is particularly striking: while the MEDICE Health Family's production output (measured in finished packaged units) has more than doubled over the past ten years, market-based Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been halved over the same period.
