Our goal is to further strengthen the medical and economic success of our company in a sustainable way. To ensure that we continue to thrive internationally as a family-owned, medium-sized business based in Iserlohn, we have purposefully strengthened our executive leadership team. Today, three Managing Directors help shape our long-term strategic direction, contributing their extensive experience and expertise while personally driving our vision forward—turning ideas into reality for the benefit of patients, partners, and society alike.
Dr. med. Katja Pütter-Ammer
Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer, MD, is the third-generation Managing Partner of the MEDICE Health Family.
Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer studied Human Medicine and later earned a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Medicine from Witten/Herdecke University.
Following her medical studies, she worked as a physician at Munich University Hospital before moving to Boston, where she pursued research and further training at Tufts University and Harvard University.
To prepare for her future role in the family business, she joined GlaxoSmithKline after her time in the United States, gaining valuable expertise in clinical research and product management.
Since 2002, she has led MEDICE together with her husband as Managing Partner. Under their leadership, the company has continuously strengthened its market position, becoming one of Europe’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in the fields of ADHD and nephrology/urology. MEDICE is also among the leading providers of over-the-counter healthcare brands in pharmacies.
In recent years, she has driven the transformation of MEDICE into the MEDICE Health Family, with the ambition of becoming a leading developer and provider of integrated healthcare solutions. Building on its pharmaceutical expertise, the MEDICE Health Family develops clinically validated multimodal healthcare solutions that combine medicines, digital health applications, and nutritional concepts to further improve patient care.
At the core of Dr. Pütter-Ammer’s entrepreneurial philosophy is a holistic understanding of health, encompassing three interconnected dimensions: physical and mental health, social health, and environmental health.
Reflecting her commitment to environmental wellbeing, she founded sustainable4U in 2020, a company dedicated to developing forward-looking solutions in the areas of nutrition and sustainability. Through her social engagement, she focuses on initiatives that address the root causes of health challenges and promote long-term prevention. Most recently, she established the Katja Pütter-Ammer Foundation, which is dedicated to strengthening the mental health and wellbeing of children and adolescents.

Dr. med. Dr. oec. Richard Ammer
Dr. Richard Ammer, MD, PhD, is a shareholder of the company alongside his wife, Dr. Katja Pütter-Ammer, and serves as Chairman of the Executive Management Board.

Born in Munich in 1970, Richard Ammer is trained both as a physician and as a business economist. Since joining MEDICE in 2003, he has been responsible for new business development, including Research & Development, Manufacturing, and International Business.
His passion for sustainable growth emerged early: while serving as student body president during his school years, he initiated a pioneering waste-separation concept for Munich’s household waste management system.
Dr. Ammer studied Human Medicine at the Technical University of Munich, with additional academic experience in Beijing and at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Supported by scholarships from, among others, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the German Research Foundation (DFG), he completed extensive clinical and scientific training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.
He subsequently continued his specialist training in Internal Medicine at the German Heart Centre Munich and later at Münster University Hospital. His research on atrial fibrillation, which also formed the basis of his doctoral thesis, earned him the European Society of Cardiology’s Young Investigator Award in Basic Science in 2001. Between 2002 and 2005, he served as Coordinator and Managing Director of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Competence Network for Atrial Fibrillation.
For more than two decades, Dr. Ammer has remained actively involved in patient care and academic teaching at Münster University Hospital. Today, he continues to work there on a part-time basis, focusing on dialysis, post-kidney transplant care, and anemia management.
In parallel, he pursued studies in Business Administration at Harvard Extension School and the University of St. Gallen, where he completed both his doctorate and PhD. He has also served as a lecturer at the University of St. Gallen for over 20 years.
In 2003, Dr. Richard Ammer joined the Executive Management Board of MEDICE to continue the family tradition together with his wife while also positioning the company for the changing healthcare landscape. Through his medical, scientific, and business expertise, he has played a key role in driving MEDICE’s growth, innovation, and international expansion, helping transform the company into the integrated healthcare solutions provider it is today.
Dr. rer. nat. Uwe Baumann
Dr. Uwe Baumann has served as Managing Director of MEDICE since July 1, 2021, with responsibility for the PCC division. Since August 1, 2021, he has also been Managing Director of Schaper & Brümmer, a company within the MEDICE Health Family.
Born in Essen in 1959, Dr. Baumann studied microbiology and earned his doctorate at the University of Münster.
Before entering the pharmaceutical industry, he was actively involved in local politics in Münster from 1985 to 1995, representing the Green Party. During this time, he spent five years as Chairman of the party’s parliamentary group on the city council.
Following several years in academic research, Dr. Baumann transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry in 1993. Prior to joining MEDICE, he held senior leadership positions at internationally renowned healthcare companies, including Hoffmann-La Roche, Novartis, and Bionorica, where he gained extensive experience in strategic business development, marketing, and healthcare management.
In addition to his industry career, Dr. Baumann taught Marketing and Strategy at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Lörrach, sharing his expertise with the next generation of business professionals.
With his broad scientific background, leadership experience, and strategic perspective, Dr. Baumann contributes significantly to the continued growth and development of the MEDICE Health Family.

Eric Neyret
Eric Neyret has served as Managing Director of MEDICE since 2012, with responsibility for Finance, Controlling, and Administration.
Born in Lyon, France, in 1964, Eric Neyret studied Political Science with a specialization in Economics in his hometown.
Following his academic training, he spent many years in the international pharmaceutical industry, holding various senior leadership positions within the Sanofi Pasteur MSD Group in both Germany and France.
Throughout his career, he has focused on building national organizations as part of international expansion strategies, establishing the structures required to support corporate growth, and leading commercial and financial projects in an international environment.
Before joining MEDICE, he served as Vice President Finance & Services and CFO Europe at Sanofi Pasteur MSD in Lyon, France. In this role, he was responsible for Controlling, Finance, Information Technology, and Procurement across the European organization.
The international expansion and dynamic growth of MEDICE in recent years have required the development of new national and international structures. Drawing on his extensive experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies, Eric Neyret has successfully helped establish and implement these structures, creating a strong foundation for the continued growth and international development of the MEDICE Health Family.
