ADHD

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, is a neurological developmental disorder in children, adolescents and adults that is characterized by attention and concentration problems, impulsivity and physical restlessness - so-called hyperactivity.

MEDICE is the market leader in Europe in the field of ADHD*.

In the course of developing our field of expertise, we have gained a broad and deep understanding of ADHD through our commitment to continually optimizing the possibilities of therapy. The basis for this is above all our proximity to doctors, therapists, sufferers and relatives. Personal contact and continuous, intensive exchanges have enabled us to fundamentally understand the disorder in all its facets. We develop solutions and services tailored to the individual needs of our medical partners and patients as part of a multimodal treatment approach that ranges from medication and behavioral therapy interventions to support for parents and educators.

Experts and opinion leaders attest to MEDICE's great empathy for the challenges of treating ADHD. This is where we want to continue. To be able to provide an answer to every question.

Life with ADHD

Living with ADHD has many facets – each person is different and the symptoms of ADHD can also vary greatly from person to person. The best way is to find your own way to deal with your ADHD and look for measures that help you personally.

ADHD manifests differently at every stage of life. Often hyperactive in childhood, emotionally challenged in adolescence, and in adults often with concentration problems and everyday stress.

Here you can find support to face the challenges that ADHD can bring at any age.

Closing gaps in care - Our multimodal approach

We are convinced that nothing is as valuable as talking medicine – the direct, trusting contact between therapist and patient. But the number of therapists is too low in relation to the number of patients in need of help. This often results in long wait times for an initial treatment appointment. As a result, the time intervals between therapy sessions are very long, making it difficult to achieve treatment success. Many therapists and patients are not satisfied with this condition.

Especially in the area of ADHD, we have created the possibility with our multimodal health solutions to support patients in the best possible way and help close gaps in care.

With this approach, we are specifically expanding our pharmacological portfolio to include evidence-based digital offerings that support therapy for ADHD. We aim to provide the best possible care for patients at every stage of the disease, from elementary school age to adulthood.

Our promise: To provide patients with multimodal care for comprehensive and optimal care.

Nutrition as the key to mental health

Our mental health is the result of complex interactions between biological, psychological, and social factors. A frequently underestimated influencing factor is nutrition: it affects our brain not only directly through metabolism, but also through the gut microbiome and the so-called gut-brain axis.

Nutrition plays a significant role in the treatment of eating disorders, which often occur as comorbidities with ADHD and depression.

The MEDICE Health Family is pursuing the goal of integrating nutrition as a fixed component in the therapy and prevention of mental illnesses with an innovative research and development program. Latest scientific findings from medicine, nutritional science, and psychology are networked and implemented in a practical way – from digital nutrition programs for children to targeted nutrient supplements like omega-3 products and microbiome-based interventions.

The connection is clear: A balanced diet can strengthen mental health; conversely, unfavorable eating habits can exacerbate mental complaints. Therefore, we understand nutrition as an integral part of a holistic therapy concept – and as an effective tool to promote mental health sustainably.
